Coaching? What is it all about?

So Coaching? What’s that all about then?

this?

Well… the one I’m talking about is slightly different.

Many people experience the following common daily thoughts;

  • I’ve got 3000 million things to do today and don’t know where to start.

  • I kind of like my job, but I would quite like something different, but what else could I do?

  • I would love to write that book I always said I would. Maybe I could start playing the piano, but I would probably be rubbish at it and no one will read my novel / listen to my honed piano skills anyway.

  • If only I was a bit healthier and fitter, but I haven’t really got time at the moment.

  • If only I wasn’t so stressed and my partner listened to me and I didn’t have to do ALL the things…if.. if.. if…

This. Is. A. Mind. Muddle.

Imagine a ball of muddled up string full of knots, where you can’t find the end, well this is what it’s like.

How can coaching help?

  • Coaching can help you un-muddle that string, find the end of it, explore and make forward-thinking positive decisions.

  • Coaching is like a spa-day for your mind. Allowing you to be listened too, to breathe, to reflect, to be free, to gain clarity.

  • Coaching provides a safe and supportive, but challenging space where you can unravel your thoughts, identify your goals in a non-judgemental way and help you achieve them.

  • Coaching is your chance to steer your own personal developments without interruptions – no suggestions (thanks but no thanks) or helpful advice!

  • And most importantly it’s about helping you assess your toolbox! Looking through all the amazing skills and confidence you thought you’d lost (or never new you had) – sharpening, polishing and working out how to use them to the best of your ability.

And to conclude (whilst paraphrasing lyrics from the classic ‘Hokey Cokey’)…

…Coaching - that’s what it’s all about!
